My Little Man is 1

I can not believe that it was only a year ago that Lincoln was born. It's amazing how time flies, but he's been so much fun and there is no one better that I would want to be in our family, he is the perfect addition. He is such a sweet boy and we just adore this little guy.
It's always so fun to look back and see how much he has grown.
Just a fun little boy.
So for Lincoln's birthday we took him and Kaden to the scarecrow festival at Thanksgiving point.
Linc had a lot of fun.
After the festival we had a small party for him and had cake and ice cream. Lincoln loved the balloons more than anything.
Who has a 1st birthday without their own birthday cake.
He didn't take long to get into his cake and tear it apart. He wanted to share, but no one really wanted it :)
The end result.
Lincoln enjoyed his new toy and here is Kaden showing him how to play with them. Side note, isn't Kaden's outfit funny. Grandma Wahlin bought that cute little muscle man costume for him, and he's worn it for three days strait now.

I still can't believe my little man is 1. He is such a joy and we love him so much.

This Is Us

Because it's been so long since I've done a post, you will notice that there are a lot of pictures. Pictures are my favorite thing and I do take a lot of them, hence, I like to share them too. This past month has been a really crazy one and a lot has happened. This here was one of the last things we did in the summer. Up in Highland at the library they have fountains and a little river that they let the kids play in, the boys LOVED it. I wished we discovered it earlier because it's free and I think the boys loved it just as much if not more than the pool. Kaden showing us his sweet and innocent side.
and Lincoln off doing his own thing.

This place really is a lot of fun.

Going to the park and getting on the swings is one of Kaden's all time favorite thing. He could swing for hours. We literally have to peal him off the swings when it's time to leave.

My little Linc man just getting into any tight small space he could possibly get into.

So my wonderful husband let me take a weekend and head off to Vegas with my friends. Here we are at the Belagio in their garden room. It was all set up for fall and it was awesome. While we were there we also got to go and see the show KA. It was absolutely incredible. If anyone ever gets the opportunity to see it, it is worth every penny. But I had so much fun with these wonderful ladies. It was so good to get out with them and enjoy a girls weekend.

So the other night we took the boys to Hee Haws in Pleasant Grove. So much fun. We did the hayride, the corn maze, we fed the animals and Kaden loved going down the slide. It was a lot of fun. A great family activity.
Here's Lincoln and I in the corn maze. Kaden loved it.
So the biggest thing to happen recently is that Kaden started Pre-school. It took him a couple of days, but he loves it. Here he is on his first day. The other cool thing is he gets to take the bus to school. The bus comes and picks him up and drops him off right in front of our home. Everyone was so excited to see him get off the bus his first day, he had an audience.

He's doing awesome and we're having so much fun watching him progress. He's such a joy and to watch him grow up is just so much fun.
Well, that's been our life so far. It's crazy, but not very interesting. We try and spruce it up, but until school is done for Dan, this is what our life is like, just like that saying "it's a crazy life, but it's our life."

Website Fun

What did parents do before the Internet? I am able to turn on the computer and put some web sites up for Kaden and he is entertained for hours. I love it, I can get stuff done. Thank you to my mother in-law who discovered a couple of these sites for me, Kaden loves them. The few that I have and the ones that Kaden loves are:

www.nickjr.com
www.pbskids.org
www.sesamestreet.org
www.disney.go.com
www.fisherprice.com

Even though these sites will entertain him for awhile does anyone know of any other ones that are good, wholesome, learning websites that kids love. I am amazed at how much he has learned from these websites, it's so fun watching him learn to count, and learn his ABC's just from getting on these simple but fun sites. If any of you haven't tried these sites for your kids yet, you should, they will love them.

Props...

I did something yesterday that I never thought I would do. Last year I did a post around this time saying props to my Husband for Hiking to the top of Timpanogos Mountain. Well, this year I'm saying props to me for hiking to the top of Timpanogos Mountain. It was one of the most hardest things I have ever done, but the long journey was well worth it, especially when you get to see a view like this one, it was incredible.

The scenery on the way up was amazing, this is one of the many waterfalls we got to see.
Doesn't this remind you of something you'd see in a rain forest.
So the way up was by far one of the hardest things I have ever done, just a little glimpse at what it's like right before you get to the top. Jessie wasn't very happy at this point, to many people.
But we finally made it and here we are, standing very proud at the top of Timpanogos Mountain.
Here's Dan and his Dad enjoying the view.
Dan and his little sister Jessie.
And here are the girls, Dan's Mom (Debbie), Jessie, and me.
Here's the whole group. So this is what it looked like right when we got to the top of the mountain...
...and this is what it looked like when we left the top. It was one of the coolest things watching those clouds come in, not to mention it probably went from 45 degrees before the clouds, down to 35 degrees when the clouds came in, it was so cold. Not to mention, we picked a day to hike that was a record breaking low for that time of year, so really what were we thinking?
This is our epic picture.
We had some fun on the way down, just enjoying the beautiful scenery, which was incredible.
Passing the snow fields was a lot of fun :)
So we finally made it down the mountain, and this is supposed to be our tired and exhausted picture, but for some reason everything was making me laugh so I was smiling, maybe I was just so happy to be off the mountain and driving home to take a shower. The trip was awesome and well worth it, but at this point it is my last trip up that mountain.

2 Months Worth

Just a warning, this is a long post with a lot of pictures.

These past couple of months have been absolutely crazy for our family, Along with work and the many other things that are going on in our lives right now, we've also had a birthday, a missionary leave, and a wedding in San Diego.
Last month I did have Lincolns 9 month check up and he is a oddly proportioned kid according to the charts, he weighs 20lbs 10 oz (50%) 29 3/4in long ( 90%) and his head, I don't remember, but it's 97%+. So my child is skinny, long, with a really big head :)
And he is crawling all over the place, it's hard to keep up with him.Random, but Kaden tripped on something the other day and hit his head on the corner of the wall, and this was his memento of the occasion.

So we celebrated Kaden's 3rd birthday. I can't believe that he is already 3, time goes by way to fast, and he got into his cake before I got a chance to get a picture.

And he got spoiled rotten for his birthday. But it was a good day filled with a lot of fun and a lot of family.

A couple of weeks ago we said good bye to Elder Wahlin who will be serving in the Sao Palo Brazil Mission. It was a bitter sweet moment. We're so happy for Nick who is going to be an amazing missionary, but Kaden has lost his best bud for the next two years.

Kaden was trying to help Nick through security with his bag :)

So two days later we left for Sunny California. Here is Kaden and most of the crew that we traveled with.

Lincoln with Great Grandma Groesbeck, who is his favorite person in this whole world.

So this is the whole reason we came to San Diego, Kelley and Josh's wedding (Josh was out and about, staying as far away from the dance floor as possible :))

The funnest part of the wedding was dressing the boys up.

Lincoln and all the girls, He is such a ladies man.

The next day was Sea World.

I love this place...

...and the boys had a blast.

But this was the end result after a long day in the hot sun.

But we did a lot of swimming and loved every minute of it.

The beach was probably the highlight of the trip for the boys. All Lincoln needed was some sand and he was good to go for the rest of the trip.

And I think he ate most of the sand at the beach :)

Kaden finally warmed up to the ocean and did not want to get out, it was so much fun.

Linc got a hold of an Oreo, and he was as happy as can be chowing down on it.

Just a funny one of Kaden at the park.

(Kaden and Garrett riding back in the shuttle from the airport)
But as the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end." San Diego is always so much fun, but it so good to be home.

Todays Trials

These past couple of months have been absolutely the most crazy and stressful couple of months I have ever been through. It all started with trying to buy a home that we're still not in and we're not sure we're going to get in, but we're still working as hard as we possibly can trying to get in our own home. The house is just a part of everything that is going on in the Wahlin home, but it has been our biggest stress and with a lot of tears, support, and prayers, we're getting through it.

Going through all this has definitely humbled me and brought me down to my knees more than once, but if there is one thing that I've learned through all of this, whether it be what I want or not is, everything works out. Even though I want to be in our own home SO BAD, I do know that if it doesn't work out, then there is something else out there for us.

So with that in mind I don't have a whole lot of pictures to show the craziness that has been going on, Just some really cute ones of my growing boys. Sorry about all the pictures, I just love pictures and wanted to show you all how big and how cute my boys are. Lincoln and his big brown eyes, I love them so much.
One of those cute moments I just had to get a picture of, Kaden usually doesn't hold still long enough for a picture like this, but this day he was being sweet and let me capture this moment.

Lincoln already wants to drive, AHH,
UMM....Yeah.

Kaden was trying to do an underdog on Lincoln, It was so cute.

Linc Loved the swing, He even fell asleep in it for a little while.

Just thought this one was cute.

Lincoln and Mayson swinging together, so cute.

Alright, so this video, Lincoln has this thing that with any kind of emotion that he is showing he moves his feet around in circles. I've been trying for ever to get a good video of him doing it, but this is so far the best one I could get. He must be camera shy. But at the end it shows it pretty good.
